Does your family take a lot of vacations or do you find yourself taking a lot of trips for work? Well, if you're in charge of your finances, why not get a hotel credit card that can actually help you build up points so that you can get free stays? This is a great way to get rewarded for your spending. Instead of spending money with your debit card or regular old credit card, look into a card with hotel points. I'll give you a quick explanation on how they work.
A hotel card Is just like any other reward based card but instead it focuses on the hotel sector itself. When you do your research, make sure that you apply for a credit card that uses the hotel you stay at. If you stay at a Hilton hotel, make sure you get a card affiliated with this brand. If you don't get a card that's affiliated, you will soon find out that you may not get the free rewards you were looking for.
When you do finally find a card, you'll want to use it every time you stay at that hotel. For example, my hotel card will give me 6 points for every dollar I spent at their hotel. When I use it outside of the hotel, I get 3 points per dollar on gas and groceries and 1 point on everything else. For every 10,000 points I rack up, I get a free night. Every card is going to be different but this is how you can really take advantage. Once you're ready to cash in your rewards, you can log into your account and get that free night.
I would recommend these cards for those that travel a few times a year. Make sure you use it on most of your purchases and also make sure you pay it off on time in full. If you can do this, you will really take advantage!
